Intel Macs

Kempt needs Apple silicon. Intel Macs, including those that can install macOS 26, can’t run Apple’s on-device model, so Kempt doesn’t support them.

Your Mac downloads Apple’s on-device models once. Keep it plugged in and on Wi-Fi.
Open Kempt
Naming starts as soon as the models are ready. From then on it works offline.

Questions people ask

Does Kempt work on a MacBook Air M1?

Yes. Every Mac with an M1 chip or later runs Kempt on macOS 26, including the MacBook Air M1 from 2020.

Does Kempt work on the MacBook Neo?

Yes. The MacBook Neo has Apple’s A18 Pro chip, runs macOS 26 and supports Apple Intelligence, which is all Kempt needs.

Does Kempt run on an Intel Mac?

No. Kempt uses Apple’s on-device model, which needs Apple silicon. Intel Macs aren’t supported, even on macOS 26.

Is 8 GB of memory enough?

Yes. Kempt is light: a full Clean Up scan used 83 MB of memory in our tests, and Apple Intelligence runs on 8 GB Macs.

Does Kempt work on MacBook Pro M4 Pro and M4 Max?

Yes. Every M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max Mac runs Kempt, as do the M5 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.

Is Apple Intelligence available in French and Spanish on Mac?

Yes. Apple Intelligence on Mac supports French and Spanish, among other languages. Kempt reads and names paperwork in English and French, and you can ask by voice in Spanish.

Does Apple Intelligence work without Wi-Fi?

Once the models are downloaded, Kempt’s naming, search and answers run offline on your Mac.
